SAT 10th APR : REPUTATION FAR AND WIDE

Ended up in my favorite bar with the Lady's friends - you know the one, Von. There's a massive Turkish guy sat with us who lives in London and is boyfriend of one of the girls. He's drinking at a very good rate. Lots of 11pm-closing training there.

I ask, where do you live?
He replies, Bayswater.
I say, oh I've got some friends who live in Westbourne Gardens.
He says, I live there!
A couple I know - very good friends live at number 31.
He lives at 29.
I mention their names.
He repeats them in thick Turk! That guy is always drunk, I always see his wife carrying him home, he laughs.

What a reputation! You're half way round the world and a guy you meet in a pub tells you a story about a piss head mate of yours.

I am very envious, obviously.
