The Blue Mill

50 Commerce Street 212 352 0009 - I haven't eaten here yet but the owners of Chumley's have taken this place over and reverted it back to it's original name and mood. Leave a comment if you go!

Had a great time at the Blue Mill last night. The food was great with large portions. The goat cheese salad was to die for. Go for the pasta, absolutely delightful. The bar is really cool, art deco with stylish drinks. Very friendly waitstaff. Save room for desert, great cakes and pies. I will definitely be going back soon.

This is really a nice place that does not discriminate against anyone. You will see all types of people: theater goers, tourists, students, locals, young, midle age and elderly. It canĀ“t get more diverse and more relaxed. The food is good and plenty, not spectacular but tasty. Prices are reasonable but the very best is the relaxed athomspere.

Being from Europe, to me this place is and feels more like Quartier Latin than NY. Enjoy!

My wife and I went by just as they were opening for the day. We found the murals on the wall absolutely remarkable, and worth the trip by themselves!
