La Palapa
77 Saint Mark's Place, NYC 10003 212 777 2573 - If you're looking for a recommendation for a Mexican restaurant in the East Village, this is the wrong post. I came hungry. I left hungry. I told the waitress that I'll have the same as the fellow opposite me, she comes out later with a plate to share. OK, I understand the confusion. I ask again. After the plates are cleared she comes out later asking who wants desert. I ask where my dinner is. I tell the manager what I think of the ship he's running.

Had a similar experience. Waited two years. Went back. Same thing.
