Vesuvio Bakery

NYC Cafe160 Prince Street - 212 925 8248 - This postcard old school bakery serves up fine cafe dishes 7 days a week 11am to 10pm every day.

It's not the menu of imaginative antipasto, salads, wraps, sandwiches and (Vesuvio Special) Panini, nor the continental breakfast choices, nor the cool old school (1920) interior, nor the fine selection of breads - it's the gang of Italians, who hang outside that makes this a special place to try.

Far far better than the tourist trap opposite with the chairs onto the street!

Pass by every Sat morning for coffee and breakfast. It's nice to see the tradition continue. Still the best bread in the Village.

The best and freshest cannoli I have ever tasted. It is great with an espresso.

I have to say that the panini are so delicious, I had the grilled chicken panini with the pesto and it was the best I had ever eaten. I feel at home in this little quant hole in the wall. I always save room for a cannoli, the best and freshest I have ever tasted. I asked for the recipe, but they say it is a family secret going back 100 years. I highly recommend everything about Vesuvio bakery.
