Shoreham Hotel

Shoreham33 West 55th Street, 10019 - 212 247 3347 - The Shoreham Hotel is a smart little oasis in the center of crazy Midtown New York. I don't know what the accomodation is like but the bar and lounge are great places to meet for that social business meeting.

Sexiest NYC Hotels

Swedish vodka Svedka suggests:

  • Bryant Park Hotel
  • Tribeca Grand
  • Soho House
  • Alex Hotel
  • 60 Thompson
  • Soho Grand
  • Hotel On Rivington
  • W Union Square
  • Maritime
  • Gansevoort

(Although we hear the Soho Grand is getting a bit grubby these days (which maybe the attraction??) - and as for the Gansevoort.... maybe to look at, but never at weekends.

Hotel On Rivington

107 Rivington Street (btwn Ludlow & Essex) 212 475 2600

The Hotel On Rivington is this super-huge new building plumped squat into an aging Lower East Side street. The juxtaposition is amusing but a little disconcerting and also, probably, a sign of things to come in LES.

Anyway - it's still being completed, so I can't even tell you about the hotel (if someone can, please do leave a comment) BUT: I did go to a pretty decent party on Feb 9th in the empty space which, no doubt will become the Penthouse and 20th Floor. No matter, what you might think of this new building - the view from the top is unparalled from any building downtown. You can see the rivers, the bridges, the cityscape from Midtown down to Lower Manhattan. At night, the city looks so still and dormant - it's simply breathtaking.
