Magnolia

401 Bleecker St., New York, NY 10014 - An institution. The line outside day and night says all about the popularity of the cup cakes at this very Village 'place to be seen'.

The best cakes in the city? Hmmmm.... maybe not but if you're visiting NYC, a worthwhile experience. If you want to try better: I suggest a walk south down the Hudson to 'Out Of The Kitchen'.

Still undecided about going to Magnolia? The Gothamist reported recently on the competition to find the best cup cakes in New York: read here.

I dont know what the big hub-bub is about Magnolia. Zaro's New York Bakery is a true New York Bakery. THey make real old-world specialty new york baked goods like babka, challah, rugelach and of course... new york bagels. Read more about them in New Yor Metro:

Or check them out for yourself:
